Welcome to Tend2Mind Counselling
I'm a qualified and Registered Integrative Counsellor and I've worked within the field of health and social care for over 25 years. In that time I've had the opportunity to support individuals with many varied needs. I've worked within organisations such as social services, domestic abuse agencies, sexual violence charities, trauma services and college settings.
I offer integrative counselling to adults, and my modality is based on a Humanistic approach. I utilise Transactional Analysis, Attachment theory and Creative Therapies. I'm also currently studying to become a Psychosexual Therapist.
I work with couples and individuals to enable reflection and growth within themselves and their relationships.
As an Integrative Counsellor I use a trauma informed phased approach when working with individuals and couples to ensure you remain safe and grounded within your sessions.
Within sessions there will be the opportunity to explore your attachment styles, relational trauma's, conflicts, stressors and communication styles. You will develop your strategies and self-awareness to rebuild connection in your relationship.
I like to encourage creativity within the counselling sessions. This is ideal for 'inner child' work to help you explore your values and self-beliefs. Many people find that they are able to express themselves more easily when being creative and we can do this through arts, crafts, creative exercises, journaling etc.
As your relationship therapist I use a strengths-based approach to promote understanding and resilience between you and your partner. Your sessions provide a safe therapeutic space to reflect on the root cause of any conflict and discover effective ways to communicate your needs within the relationship.
How you relate towards each other at any given time can be impacted by issues such as
· Trauma – shared or individual
· Grief, illness or disability
· Betrayal or mistrust
· Sex and Intimacy
· Neurodiverse differences
· Attachment styles
As I am also currently training to become a Psychosexual Therapist, I can now incorporate this into individual and couples’ sessions to address issues such as
· Sexual Desire and Sexual Function problems
· Compulsive Sexual Behaviours
What is Psychosexual Therapy?
‘It is a type of talking therapy that helps individuals and couples address and resolve psychological issues and difficulties related to their sexual function, behaviour or relationships’
I provide EAP counselling for organisations wishing to support their employees though personal or work-related challenges. By addressing mental health concerns and promoting well-being, EAP counselling can significantly improve employee morale, job satisfaction and productivity. In addition, it can also help reduce workplace stress, absenteeism and turnover rates, ultimately contributing to a healthier and more positive work environment.
Providing sessions to employees has proved beneficial during times of change within a working environment and during times of personal struggles.
The number of Counselling sessions can be tailored to your organisation and usually consist of 6 -12 sessions per employee who is referred.

I offer face to face Couples and Individual Therapy in Llanelli.

Following our initial contact I would first invite you for an Initial Assessment Session, which is 30-50 minutes.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about how therapy works, or to arrange an initial assessment appointment. This enables us to discuss the reasons you are thinking of coming to therapy, whether it could be helpful for you and whether I am the right therapist to help.
All enquiries are usually answered within 24 hours, and all contact is strictly confidential and uses secure phone and email services.
